"My Rodeo Beginning's"
Noel Cosca riding Blue Mesa at a Pro-Rodeo in the 1970's

I filled my GRA permit winning the Antioch Rodeo and received my GRA card at the age of 17. The GRA (Girls Rodeo Association) changed their name to the WPRA Women's Pro Rodeo Association. Blue was a bay roan gelding that was 16 hands, I trained myself. I also competed in three-day eventing with him, roping, horse shows and finished the Tevis Cup. The Tevis Cup is a 100 mile ride in 24 hours from Squaw Valley NV to Auburn, CA. 3-Day Eventing included dressage, cross-county jumping and stadium jumping. Blue was a tremendous athlete. The training of"Blue Mesa"
I ran the fastest time at the San Jose Rodeo as my rookie run at a pro-rodeo. Riding Blue I also made the Sierra Circuit finals for several years in the late 1970's.
