Vet Visit July 12th Tom Belly Ache
Came to barn to ride all three at 8:30. Tom started to paw at the feed manger. Didn't saddle him, noticed his hocks slightly swollen. Saddled TomGirl and ponied Tom at arena with her then brought him to the water trough at arena and he drank real good.
Put Tom out on the gras to graze while I finished riding all three. While hosing the other off including Tom, Tom went back to pawing and rolling, called Dr. Brenda Linman heard a 52 heart beat, slow gut sounds, slightly pale gums and slightly dehydrated.
July 12, 2023 Dr. Brenda Kept him overnight after we decided to go ahead and oil him. He was given Banamine. Not drinking his water in the pen even after
Brenda called me about 6pm that night. He passed poop after unloading from the Trailer which was green and moist. He passed poop in his corral before bringing him and in the barn waiting to hook up the trailer.
This was his first time ever having any coloic symptons. Weather went from 85 to 102 degree days in just a few days.
